Sniff. Sniff.

Some things that make me cry, in increasing order of absurdity:

1. When Gene Autry sings "Santa Claus knows we're all God's children/That makes everything right."

2. The key change in Dolly Parton's "Hard Candy Christmas."

3. When the chipmunks sing "We can hardly stand the wait/Please Christmas don't be late."

4. The neighing sound at the end of Boston Pops' "Sleigh Ride."

Uh, Gene and the Chipmunks got to me too, but not as much as I think it is Bing Crosby? singing "When I am worried, and I can't sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep. And I fall asleep counting my bleeeeessssings." And Bing again singing "I'll Be Home or Christmas." and Judy Garland singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." WTH kind of hold does Christmas have on my hormones?

But what made me giggle was Charlie singing along to Ella F. -- "What are you doing New Year's... New Year's Eve?" ;)

Oh yeah, Judy and the muddling through somehow kills me. I've been singing "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" to the baby, since he isn't likely to be home by then.

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "I'll Be Home By Christmas" even make me cry, and you know we don't do Christmas.

But "Sleigh Ride"....shudder. I am haunted by the alto part I sang in high school and again in college and AGAIN in a community choir here. It consists of an entire song of "jingle, tingle/jingle tingle" with a couple of "oo-oohs" thrown in. Ick.
